We’re the University of Exeter Students’ Guild – here to help you Love Exeter! We exist to encourage and inspire you to find your people, your passion and your place.
Day to day, we’re the home of societies, events, representation, campaigning, advice – all the best bits when it comes to student life.
We are a completely independent non-profit, which means we can focus our time and energy on doing what’s right for you. We’re led by our students, and we’re always here for you when you need honest advice, support and inspiration.
We’ve got a whole host of staff working at the Guild, on the scene and behind the scenes! All are passionate about improving your student experience.
From making sure your spaces are looking fresh, to dishing out advice when you need it, we have over 40 full-time staff looking out for you.
Our core staff are here all year round, and we also have our elected Student Officers representing your voices, and getting your feedback on the issues you are facing and the causes you are passionate about.
We’re a registered charity. This means we are governed by a Trustee Board made up of Officers, students and our external trustees, who are experts on topics like finance and EDI.
Being a charity means we run a little bit differently – day to day the Students’ Guild is student-led and informed by members (you!), run by the Chief Executive and Senior Team. But when it comes to accountability, it's the Trustees who are ultimately responsible. No pressure!
Our Trustee Board meets 4 times a year to hear from the senior team and make important decisions. Want to know what actually happens in these meetings? You can read the minutes here.
Each year we also hold a Student Members Meeting (also known as an Annual General Meeting) where you can hear about the impact we’re making for students and what we spend our money on!
