Advisory Boards

Advisory boards bring together students with a particular interest or expertise to help guide our thinking and inform key projects. These are a great way to get involved with Guild decision making and co-creating solutions.
Guild Advisory Board
One of the ways the Guild is led by students is through the Guild Advisory Board. These students discuss issues and work on solutions to make sure your student experience is the best it can be. This board is responsible for the approval of appointments to our Charitable Trustee Board, for holding the Guild to account, and shaping the way we do things at the Guild.
In 2022/23, the Guild Advisory Board shaped:
- Approving the plans for the Refurbishment of Devonshire House to ensure the space would be better utilised for the benefit of students.
- Shaping our approach to Welcome moving away from ‘Freshers’ and instead towards a longer welcome period for more opportunities for student engagement
- Consulting on the Guild’s work on student priority areas to ensure the work was meaningful and a good use of resources.
Guild Advisory Board members are eligible for payment of £30 per session they attend. Provisional dates for the sessions are:
- Tue 24 Oct 18:30 - 20:30

EDI Advisory Board
Our EDI Advisory Board influences University and Guild EDI approaches and provides vital feedback on the lived experience for students at Exeter.

- The ongoing University review on Mitigation process; demonstrating student use for mitigation, rectifying an assumed narrative of why students needed Mitigation.
- Hoarding and space utilisation for the new Multi-Faith centre, resulting in student-selected communications being featured on the planned hoardings.
EDI Advisory Board members are eligible for payment of £30 per session they attend. Provisional dates for the sessions are:
