This week is Eating Disorder Awareness Week.
Did you know...1.25 million people in the UK are affected by eating disorders. And anyone of any size, gender, race or identity can experience eating disorders.
Awareness weeks like this are incredibly important for various reasons. One reason being that diagnosis is still inaccessible for many people. BIPOC (Black, Indigenous and people of colour) people are just as likely as their white peers to suffer from eating disorders, but almost half as likely to be diagnosed.
Thank you to all the students and societies who are putting on amazing events and sessions this week to help raise awareness. And a special thank you to Eating Difficulties Peer Support Group for all the work they do all year round.
