Do you want to actively shape your university experience? Then get involved with Change Week here at the University of Exeter! Change Week, 10-14 March, is your chance as a student to really make a difference. It is a call to action and a reminder than change starts with you. So why not take part?
There are many ways that you can join in and make a difference as a student. Whether it be big or small, don’t underestimate the impact you can have. Why not start by attending some of the events we are hosting this Change Week? For example, we are hosting a week-long clothes drop and swap, where we encourage you to bring in any unwanted clothes that you may usually throw away, and instead give them a new home. You will then begiven a token to exchange for another piece of clothing, so you can get something new, or if you would prefer, these tokens can be exchanged for a freebie at our fun fair! That’s right, we are also hosting a fun fair from the 10-13 March with a variety of your classic fun fair games. There are also opportunities to donate any tinned or canned foods you may not want, alongside plenty of give it a go sessions. All of these events, and more, are listed on our website, and you can grab tickets on FIXR.
Student leadership is also a big part of university life, and with our student elections upcoming, voting is a great way to spark change. Don’t forget to vote for the candidates who best represent you in order to better your experience here in Exeter.

Another way to make your voice heard is this year’s Big Guild Survey, where your feedback will be taken on board to make the way for positive changes to your student experience (and there’s the added bonus of a chance to win a prize!)

Get inspired by seeing what our student changemakers have achieved, you can get in touch with us if you've got an idea for a project!
Of course, change isn’t limited to this week. There are endless opportunities throughout the academic year to make a difference. Take a look at all the causes and charity and fundraising societies we have here at Exeter, and you’ll find loads of ways you can have a positive impact on people and places all over the planet.
Becoming a member of Exeter Student Volunteers is entirely free and offers many projects. For example, you can volunteer for homeless action, elderly connect, dog walking – the list goes on! Be The Change society champions sustainability both on and off campus, so if environmentalism matters to you, why not connect with them?
This Change Week let’s all go the extra mile to make meaningful change in Exeter. No matter how big or small, your actions and your voice can be the force for good change, so don’t let it go to waste!
